Glick Audio and Video Celebrates 50 Years with Week of Events
After providing Lancaster County with 50 years of custom technology solutions, Glick Audio and Video is thanking the community with a week-long anniversary celebration.
Between October 31 and November 7, the technology integration firm will host a series of free seminars on home entertainment and business productivity solutions.
Surrounded by pastures and neighbors who tilled their fields with horses, the Glick family opened their doors in 1959 as a rural retail outlet for Wollensak recording equipment and Magnavox consoles.
As the years went by, electronics became a part of everyday life in the home and workplace.
“Our company has grown to include custom home theater and commercial products like HD video conferencing that enable businesses to cut costs and increase productivity,” said manager Jim Bowman.
Amidst the growth of new technologies, Glick Audio and Video continues to offer repair servces on turntables and equipment sold years ago.
“Many of our customers developed into friends over the years,” said Vernon Glick whose father founded the business. “In some families, we have had second and third-generation buyers.”
In 2004, the Glick family sold the business to Manheim-based TCW Computer Systems, Inc.
The merger allowed Glick Audio and Video to introduce new services to the community at a time when other audio and video companies were struggling or going out of business.
“Glick Audio and Video is a personable brand that allows us to share our computer networking experience with more individuals in the community,” said Lamar Weaver, owner of TCW Computer Systems, Inc.
“Computer technology is not only at the heart of business presentation and communication solutions,” said Weaver, “it is now a driving force in home entertainment delivery.”
During the week-long anniversary celebration, nightly product demonstrations will be held in the showrooms at 1920 Lincoln Highway East in Lancaster.
